An introduction

I have decided to start playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle and have been fortunate to kind of blunder in to 2 complete Dwarf armies (which is especially fortuitous as I have long been a fan of the longbeards).

This is the bit of background that I have come up with to represent the fortunate son, if you will.

I, Hrethric Farstrider, newly invested prince of Khazad Galaz, will lead my throng forth in this time of need as promised by my grandsire, Merroic Seafarer, to your ancestor Anaahan al-Jubal thereby fulfilling our oath which, you will recall, established the trade of our baser minerals for the black water that flows in the desert. Also, at this time, I would like to remind you that 817 years ago, according to our records, a shipment of tin and iron was sent forth to your lands and returned empty with word of a plague or some such from your homeland. Our sympathies go out to you and we look forward to receiving said payment of black water which, given a very reasonable interest rate, now amounts to 8,251 and one third barrels of said liquid. To show that there are no hard feelings on our part over this disruption of trade, we will cut the amount outstanding to a mere 8250 barrels.

Expect my herald, Verag Frostbeard at the head of our point guard to arrive in escort of the two cargo ships bearing empty barrels to reclaim this outstanding debt. Once it has been paid, we will continue with the agreed upon exchange rate of minerals for black water. Verag will stay and prepare for the coming of the full throng and has my fullest confidence as well as authority to lead said dawi into battle at his discretion.
